YVR Update: Terrace Street Pump Station Upgrades and Road Closures

We wanted to let you know that YVR will be commencing some construction work on Monday, August 17. From August 17 through to December 31, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, YVR will be closing Terrace St, adjacent to Alymer Rd., to complete pump station upgrades. Throughout the project period, Terrace St. will remain closed.

This pump station work is a part of our greater sanitary pump replacement project where we are upgrading sanitary pumps across Sea Island. Earlier work on this project in May included the installation of some water monitoring wells in the area related to this work.

During construction, we will have a crawler crane and sheet piling machines onsite. These machines produce minimal noise and dust, and all work will be completed during daytime hours.

Traffic will not be allowed on Terrace St., and Alymer Rd. will see single lane alternating closures during work hours. These traffic adjustments are necessary to provide crews with safe access to the work area. Traffic control personnel and signage will be on site to direct motorists and maintain safe traffic flow.
