Mayoral Announcement (June 3rd, 2026)

It is with very heavy hearts that we must make this sad announcement.

Mayor Mr. Frog has passed away and Deputy Mayor Boba is now Acting Mayor until our next election.

Please join us in November for our Annual General Meeting where we will celebrate Mayor Mr. Frog’s life and elect a new Mayor and Councillors of Burkeville.

In the meantime here are some words prepared by Mayor Mr. Frog’s Administrative Staff:

——-

“I’m very sorry to be writing this but in the evening of June 2nd Mr. Frog passed away.
We had her for 3 years and we estimated her life to be 5-6 years old. She had an injury a month ago and healed from it but she lost a lot of weight in the past 3 months and most likely passed away from old age.
She definitely lived her best life and enjoyed company from the kids who came and visited her, especially those who gave her pets or meal worms.
She also really enjoyed going for walks outside in the grass or staying inside and chasing the laser.
She also enjoyed the company of her family. Mango [our cat] grew close to her as well and stayed by her day and night during her last few days.
She was looking forward to the upcoming Burkeville Daze and all she wishes is that the kids and adults all enjoy the day. She hopes a new Mayor will step up in her place to bring happiness to all the people [as] she once did.“
