City of Richmond (CoR) Miller/Wellington Alleyway Upgrade Project 2026

June 24th, 2026

Update from Steve Arrigo (CoR Supervisor)

The City has reached out to let us know that the Miller Rd Laneway construction works will be shut down for all of next week (June 29th to July 3rd):

Week of June 29th to July 3rd:

  • As of this Friday evening the lane will be open to the residents for use if they so wish.

  • The City strongly advises the laneway be used on an as-needed basis during this shutdown, as it won’t be in the best of shape.

  • Residents should continue to place their garbage, recycling and food waste bins at the designated, end-of-laneway collection locations during the week of work stoppage (See image below).

Week of July 6th-10th:

  • Full construction will be starting again on July 6th so please have all vehicles removed the morning of Monday, July 6th.

***NOTE: The City also wants to make anyone with concerns aware that the lane is nowhere close to finished grade as they move along. After all pipe is laid they will start at the beginning again to grade the laneway and make adjustments. Once that stage is fully complete, the laneway will get paved. Once it is paved, they will come back to shoulder and do all final touches and repairs.
