YVR Update: Speed Humps to be installed on Airport Road South on June 5th
We wanted to let you know that YVR will be completing some paving works near Burkeville this week.
BA Blacktop will be completing paving work adjacent to Larry Berg Flight Path Park and along Airport Road to install four speed humps at the intersections of Dougherty Road and Catalina Crescent/Lancaster Crescent. This work is part of our overall program to upgrade roadways and to assist with preventing speeding through Burkeville. The work is planned for June 5th and will be complete within 4 hours between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
During the paving and line painting work, Airport Road will be temporarily closed between Handley Avenue and Russ Baker Way. All work will follow the City of Richmond’s prescribed work hours and noise limits.
***Please Note: 20 metres south of the Catalina/Lancaster intersection along Airport Road does fall under the City of Richmond's jurisdiction. However, our YVR engineers and pavement specialists recommended doing the whole area as a single project, rather than YVR doing one portion and City of Richmond doing the other. Our teams worked with the City, and they allowed for us to complete the work in their jurisdiction.
The crew completing the work will park in the existing parking stalls along Airport Road next to Larry Berg Park.
Thank you for your patience while this work is completed.
