YVR Update: Overnight closures of Granville Street on-ramp to Arthur Laing Bridge

Please be advised that there is an upcoming overnight closure that will impact access to Richmond and Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

On February 20th and 21st, the Granville Street southbound on-ramp to the Arthur Laing Bridge will be closed overnight to support road work. The closure will be in effect from approximately 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. During this time, drivers travelling southbound on Granville Street will not be able to access the Arthur Laing Bridge toward Sea Island/YVR and onwards to Richmond.

This on-ramp closure and road work is related to a motor vehicle incident that occurred in December 2025. It is not connected to last week’s barge incident, which resulted in a temporary lane closure.

Those heading to Richmond or YVR via Granville Street during the overnight closure will need to use the Oak Steet Bridge, which will serve as the primary detour route, or the Marine Drive on-ramp to the Arthur Laing Bridge. Commercial vehicles and trucks must use Oak Street Bridge, as the eastern Arthur Laing Bridge on-ramp via Marine Drive is not suitable for truck traffic. Passenger vehicles may use Oak Street Bridge or the eastern on-ramp to Arthur Laing Bridge where appropriate.

Cyclists will be directed to use the Canada Line Bridge to access Sea Island and Richmond while the Granville Street on-ramp is closed. All other routes to Sea Island, including the Dinsmore Bridge No. 2 Road Bridge, will remain open throughout the work.

We recommend allowing extra travel time during overnight hours and thank you for your patience while this work is completed.
